This was made for my final project in the Virtual World class for block mesh and game mechanics prototyping in Unreal Engine 4. The mechanics include basic Uncharted ledges and rocks climbing using spheres and capsule traces, with grappling hook and swinging done with cable component.
All of the codings were done in Blueprint. Swinging with grapple still needs some fine-tuning with the force that’s keeping the character on the rope, but it works pretty well out of the box. Climbing onto ledges also have some problems with the root motion, I will try to fix them in the future and also experiment with more climbing possibilities.
